When I fell pregnant with BTs daughter in 2021, it was mutually agreed that because BT chose not to be part of her life, he would not contribute financially. The understanding was simple: if that ever changed, so would the responsibility.
In January 2025, he returned, 'desperate' to be a father, and even more desperate to escape an engagement that, in his words, was “slowly draining the life out of him.” I was cautious, but over the next five months he became a fixture in our daughter’s life: school runs, bedtime stories, weekends, holidays, parties etc.
When he first came back into our lives he was engaged to be married in 2026. I made it clear that any relationship he built would have to come with the full support and involvement of his fiancé, and that she should also play a role if he was serious about the future. He begrudgingly agreed, however shortly afterwards informed me that the engagement had ended, and his only focus was to build a life together as a family unit.
This continued until the day I discovered his engagement photos pinned to his 'ex-fiances' social media. When I questioned this he tried to lie. Blaming it on the 'impending mental breakdown' of his fiancé (his words evidenced below. When it came out to be true, he disappeared totally and completely from his daughters life, leaving a 3 year old STILL asking for her Dad almost a year later.
So here we are. BT has refused to financially contribute towards his child. He has played 'the system' to his advantage by claiming benefits, meaning his only contribution should be £32 per month (which is also refuses to pay).
Unfortunately for BT, accountability isn’t optional & evidence of his lies & manipulation exist in black & white.
Because there may be two sides to every story — but only one comes with screenshots.
Latest Update January 2026
Despite a promising phone call with BT's fiancé that resulted in her support in finding a solution, no action was forthcoming. The conversation was really positive & I genuinely believe her intentions were to help, however none of this was hers to fix in the first place. I respect that she was so accommodating given the circumstances & that she genuinely appeared to want to fix the issue.
BT missed his expected payment direct to Child Maintenance of £32.51 & his parents (who have been involved in our daughters life since the day she was born despite BT's absence) have refused to hold him accountable. They chose to ignore my message asking for guidance on the matter and instead chose to turn up at a relatives house with gifts & presents for the grandchild they missed so desperately. They have made to attempt to contact or communicate with me.
